If your licensed and certified Chicago home inspector identifies any need for a more detailed analysis of certain specific systems or structures within the home, the inspector may recommend further consultation with an experienced engineer who possesses expertise analyzing that particular system type, structure or condition. 

Hiring a Professional Engineer to conduct your professional home inspection is all too often a disappointing experience. The term "Professional Engineer" does not mean that any given engineer has the training, experience or talent necessary to conduct a thorough home inspection. It is rare for most professional engineers to make their careers and establish their reputations by performing home inspections. When professional engineers inspect anything at all, it is often roads, bridges, tunnels, dams, large buildings and other things you're not likely to find in your new home. Hiring a Professional Engineer to perform your home inspection will undoubtedly cost more, but it may not give you the results you're expecting.
